Temp to Perm an option to consider
At Forrest Recruitment we have noticed an increase recently in clients using the ‘temp to perm’ route as a way of sourcing the right candidate to fit into their organisation.
Often companies will use temp – perm as a way to ‘try before you buy’ but flipping the other side of the coin it can also be a great way for candidates to experiment and try out different roles and office cultures before committing to becoming a permanent fixture.
Think of this opportunity as an extended interview, make the effort to get to know and understand the business that you are working in.
The more knowledgeable that you become about the company the more valuable you will be to your employer and most importantly this will help you to make a significant impact. By getting to know the company’s values, codes of conduct and branding you will have an advantage when a permanent position becomes available.
As a temporary worker you may not always feel that you are included and counted as part of the team, it is up to you to get to know the team and develop relationships. The more effort you make people will get to know you and will think of you for future permanent opportunities.
If you are looking for a permanent position but are at a cross roads in terms of what will suit you in the long term then this could be an option worth considering!
