Newcastle branch donate to Scleroderma and Raynaud’s UK
This summer Forrest Recruitment Limited has donated Β£1,000 to Scleroderma and Raynaud’s UK based in Alsager during their awareness month. Iona Brading from the Newcastle-under-Lyme Branch met with Ms Farrington the Chief Executive of the charity to present the cheque.
Scleroderma and Raynaud’s affects up to 10 million people in the UK and is triggered by temperatures and stress which can result in excruciating pain in hands and feet. At the moment the charity only supports five and a half thousand so uses donations such as this to improve awareness and understanding of both of these issues.
The local office in Alsager organises gloves, thermal socks and heat packs for sufferers to try and reduce triggers and symptoms. Investing in innovative research methods to try to establish a cure is always at the forefront of the charity.
It is hoped that with this donation Scleroderma and Raynaud’s UK can continue with developing a cure and extend their support network to more sufferers across the country.
