Forrest Recruitment Wilmslow proudly support Once Upon a Smile

This year the team at Forrest Recruitment Wilmslow proudly donated £1000 to the local charity ‘Once Upon a smile’

Once upon a Smile are a local Manchester charity that provide support to bereaved families in their time of need.  There is a severe lack of support for families with young children and they are the only charity to offer the range of support to families who have suffered the loss of a loved one, whether that be a parent losing a child or a child losing family or close loved ones.

The charity prides itself on tailoring the support it can offer to each individual family and has become a vital lifeline for families suffering the loss of a child through tragic circumstances.

Louise Gregory – Branch Manager and Jo Hewitt – Senior Consultant from the Wilmslow branch met with Sarah Sheppard a Community Fundraiser for Once Upon a Smile and Vicky Maley who has become an ambassador for the charity.  Vicky tragically lost her 10 year old son Isaac in August 2015 to a sudden acute asthma attack. Speaking with Vicky she described how the help and support she and her family have received from the charity has proven to be invaluable through a very painful and difficult time, she can’t imagine how things would have been without their help.  This has inspired Vicky to get on board with her ‘Team Isaac’ and raise as much money as possible in Isaac’s name to help other families needing similar support.  Vicky, her family and close network of friends have so far helped to raise £37,000 in less than a year which is phenomenal!!

Sarah Sheppard a representative of the Charity assured us that the money donated will help them to continue to provide this emotional and practical support. They arrange a whole host of events sometimes with the help of celebrities in order to keep a constant flow of funds coming in.  You can learn more about them by visiting their website at .

We wish Vicky and ‘Team Isaac’ all the very best in their continuing efforts to fund raise for this wonderful and very much needed charity.
