💸Charity Donation No. 3💚

Our Manchester Branch have chosen to split their donation between 2 x charities, the first being Wood Street Mission

Nina Forshaw and Georgia Wilson visited Wood Street Mission with their donation this week….

💚Wood Street Mission are a fantastic local charity that work with and support families across the Manchester and Salford areas who are in need.

💚Forrest Recruitment’s donation could go towards nearly 13 full sets of school uniform, ensuring that children feel confident and able to engage in the classroom, It could buy 2-3 weeks worth of toiletries to distribute via their Family Basics project, meaning every single child supported in that time will have the essentials to combat hygiene poverty and look after their health and wellbeing.

“Wood Street Mission is a children’s charity helping children and families living on a low income in Manchester and Salford”.

“We provide practical help to help meet children’s day-to-day needs and improve their life chances. Through Family Basics we provide struggling families with children’s clothes, bedding and baby equipment, and toys and books which are important for children’s wellbeing and development”

“We promote engagement in education by helping families with the costs of going to school through SmartStart and run holiday Book Clubs to promote reading and improve children’s literacy. We also provide toys for children to have presents on Christmas Day”.

“We also raise awareness about child poverty through our communications, holding events and giving talks at schools, businesses and groups”.

“We help thousands of children and their families every year, and all our services are free for families to access on referral”.

As an independent charity they rely on their supporters to raise and donate funds and items, and to raise awareness of their work and we are grateful we are able to support them this year.

Wood Street Mission was established in 1869 making them 154 years old this year! To learn more about Wood Street Mission, visit their website
